Hooking a computer up to a hdtv

Icurrently have an hp computer that has a nvidia card that offers a dvi output. Is ther a way to setup vegas's video preview to be monitored on the big screen only?
Right now I use a sony media converter that goes to a crt for video editing.
I would like to have the video show up on the hdtv without the windows desktop.
Any suggestions welcome. : )

Pretty simple:
Options->Preferences->Preview Device
Select Windows Secondary Display

Make sure your secondary monitor output is configured properly in your display properties. Click the little TV screen in your Vegas preview window. That should do it.

Don't know if this is what you want but,

I have two video cards with the ability to have 4 monitors (2 per card)
I have two monitors connected to one of the video cards and I use a DVI out from the second video card with an HDMI at the other end of the cable going into an HDTV.
I do have the #3 monitor/desktop background on the HDTV and I just drag my Vegas preview over to the HDTV and expand it to as large as I want. I can also click on the "external' monitor icon and then the preview window fills the entire HDTV screen although at "preview" quality it doesn't look that good so I usually reduce the size. (I'm working with HDV so use the Preview quality to keep up playback speed)
If I want to playback a project using Windows Media Player I use the HDTV/monitor and let it play full size and its beautiful to watch.

If you have an nVidia card you should install the nVidia driver if you have not.

The nVidia driver includes control tools or right click on the desktop and select properties or personalize depending on desktop.

In XP you can extend or duplicate the desktop. In Vista I've only been able to extend not duplicate. Windows Media Player, Latest QT Player and DVD Player all have full screen modes that cover up the windows desktop. In extended mode use a black background and make the HDTV the secondary so the icons are on the primary if you never want to see an icon on the HDTV.
