Hoorah!! I finally got the installation to work!!

Yesterday I bought the upgrade to Studio 14 Platinum - which is a great price, by the way. Vegas is an awesome piece of software.

I received my confirmation email with the download link and serial number, no problem.

I downloaded the downloader :-)

But that's where it started to go wrong. On my company laptop the downloader for the Vegas software just kept getting stuck at 99%. But all the other junk you get with it (music maker, DVD architect, etc.) downloaded fine - even though I never use them. But the only software I actually wanted - Vegas - was "stuck".

So I tried the installation via the downloader on my desktop machine, and it worked.

Note - I'm using Chrome and Windows 10 on both machines. My company laptop uses VPN software, but I disconnected this. and I think I even tried a safe mode install. Nope...still "sticks" at 99%.

Then I found the direct download link of the latest patch here...

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/de/proxy/ac079a8dfc30f7cca9be/?link=http%3A//dl04.magix.net/2017/VEGASMovieStudio14/VEGAS_Movie_Studio_14.0.0.122_Platinum_Trial.exe

But guess what...that download also sticks at 99% on my company laptop!!! Note that this is a laptop on which I regularly download many large files from many different locations without a problem.

But the direct download did work on the desktop PC. So I downloaded the full install there, moved it to the laptop and installed it.

Wow - what a process!!! What kind of weird download host do you have? And why would the Magix downloader work for Music Marker, DVD Architect etc, but just not for Vegas?
