Horrible external preview quality.

No wonder Vegas takes a beating amongst the pros with things like this going on.

In the Preferences for the External Monitor one can tell Vegas to always conform the output to match your monitor. Very convenient if you want to watch 16:9 with a 4:3 monitor at the correct AR, it'll nicely letterbox the output for you.

Only problem is it looks like rubbish on any movement because the fields are not de-interlaced and re-interlaced during scaling. Exactly the same problem as you see if you don't change the DEFAULT de-interlace method. Just to be clear here, the project default de-interlace method does not fix this problem.

Speaking of which, here we are at version 8 of the product and we still have a default project setup that'll produce bad output. It surely cannot take a monumental amount of coding to fix this, heck even a big red warning sticker on the box would do. Many people in other fora have evaluated Vegas and found it seriously lacking because of this, it is costing sales and making users look like fools who think edges on motion are OK if they look like they've been through a paper shredder.
