horrible flashing on still image transitions!

(VV 3.0c)
I'm evaluating VV; and after using for a bit, I think it's an awesome product! Only one glitch I've run into so far: serious flashing on still image transitions. Video transitions work as advertised. Everything looks great when I'm just previewing the timeline...but when I "selectively prerender" (prep for print-to-tape), *all* of the transitions 'flash' (every other frame) on every still image (jpg). Same with .png image files. It even flashes when there is no overlap (butt cut)-something that makes me think it's a bug.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Oh, and I tried different combinations of field dominance, per project and per clip: lower, higher, none (progressive). I would think that was the issue, but they didn't seem to have an effect. =(

Running WinXP Pro, 2ghz P4, 768mb ram, basic Firewire card, nVidia GF MX2.
Any responses are greatly appreciated! I can post an example if needed. Thanks!

Is it a flash while playing, or while paused on an external monitor? If the latter, you're seeing interlace flicker in paused video, which is normal. If you're seeing flashes during playback, something is not right, and I'd like to learn more about your project.

Dennis--
Yes, it is occuring during playback, *only* when I render the video (not during regular editing/playhead scrubbing). I'll try and post a sample for you to look at, thanks for replying!!

Update: I've posted a sample render online here:
http://www.pumpchurch.org/archives/video_sample.shtml

Windows media format, ~533k. Please have a look, note the flashing in the transistions! Very strange, any input greatly appreciated. I don't want to use Premiere... =P

wow- the flickering you are seeing is not anything close to normal. Please send me the project file (.veg) and I'll take a look.

I have posted a .veg sample with still images only at the link above in a zip archive. Thanks for your help!

[SF] sent me a solution--turn off the properties>>Advanced>>motion blur>>gaussian. That allowed it to render normally. They are looking into it as far as I know.

Great response by SF engineering--thanks for the fast replies! Good customer service, no doubt. =)

I think they are genuinely interested in making a "killer app". enlisting help from us users is a necessary part of that. we all benefit. thanks SoFo, keep it up. and to everyone who reads this board, let's keep them on their toes! we all know VV4 is (inevitably) in the works and this forum is our chance to make it what we want.
