Hotkey to suppress auto-ripple?

Is there a way to temporarily suppress auto-ripple (or vice-versa) by holding down a key while I make an edit? (as opposed to turning it off, doing my edit, then turning it back on again)

Oh yes . .

I'd like the following:

* Right Click "Undo Menu"

* Right Click "Ripple Edit Subset"

BUT, but, but an ability to ADD items to the Right Click drop down menu too!

Hunting for that Icon up there on the Toolbar is bizarre for an Item that has such major consequences while editing.

Oh yes . . How about the Build Ram Preview [BRP] on the Right click too! - How easy it would be to Scrub/Highlight a section > Right Click > BRP

At the end of the day, I analyse what my work-flow IS and try and mould and fashion my Vegas6 to my working - Not having an option to ADD to the Right Click Menu would be MARVELLOUS!

. . but what do I know?

I've now mapped F10 (which was free) to Options.DoAutoRipple. Definitely better than hunting for the icon or contorting to press CTRL+L.

I assigned F4, which was also free, to UNDO while I was at it.

Nick you can avoid having to toggle ripple on an off altogether if you use post-ripple instead.

F : affected tracks
Ctrl/F : Tracks/Bus tracks/markers/regions
Crtl/Shift/F : All tracks, markers and regions

That's going to be a tricky one after 7 years of rippling in the timeline. The bulk of my work is rough cutting through loads of chronological video so auto-ripple in the timeline is great for that. But on complex projects like the one I'm doing now, your suggestion may well be better. Thanks for the suggestion. That CTRL/SHIFT/F is not so easy though.
