I was going to update it because there was an update, but I'm hesitating because there were a lot of comments saying there was a problem with the community. Do you recommend this build 636 update?
Do you have a bunch of presets that you use in VEGAS for things like effects, window layouts, etc? If not, you're probably OK to go ahead and update. A small number of users are reporting issues with their presets transferring over properly.
If that doesn't affect you, you can always roll back to the previous version if updating creates instability for you. HOWEVER.... and this is very important... any projects you open in this new build, make sure you save them as their own unique files, do not open a project from an older build and save over it, because if you have to roll back to an older build, you will not be able to open projects saved in this build on the older ones... make sure to create backup copies of all your projects before saving over anything.
Build 636 is the most stable version of 19 that I have run!

@Former user, The few render presets I have are still there. I don't have any extra windows layouts - I like the default just fine. All my effects are still there but, once again, I don't have a bunch of special presets. I had no issues at all and just needed to change a few default preferences back to the settings I wanted.

Thanks we'll see, I left it downloading the update while i went to work, just got home & it seemed to want to download it again, I've got fibre fast broadband & took about 10mins, but still no program update, it's still 550 & offering the Major update 😒
Can someone share the direct download link pls, I thought i'd seem it in another thread but can't find it,
Ok, the window layout i just had to do as @RogerS says, View - Organise & my layouts were there 👍
The search in the FX window seems fast 👍 but i have created a preset for all the Boris Effects that inc Beat Reactor so i can find those easily by searching,
Initial 'Beat' search turned up nothing, so i did a manual look to see if the presets were still there, i clicked on BCC Glare, yep that Beat Reactor preset was there 👍 so i did a search for Beat again, this time only BCC Glare was found, so i had i look for another, BCC Lens Flare has that Beat Reactor preset, again i did a search for Beat, this time Lens Flare & Glare were in the found list, it looks like the search doesn't look beyond those titles in the FX tree/list,
It looks like i'm going to have to go down the list & click on each fx, slowly Vegas will add each to the search list.

Ok, i used the arrow key on the keyboard to work my way down the fx list, letting Vegas load the thumbnails of each, i guess it creates a log of those,
A search for Beat now looks like it includes all the Beat Reactor presets i've created 👍
I'm going to restart Vegas now, presumably/hopefully that list has now been cached 🤔🤷♂️😂..............
🤬😒🤦♂️ Nope they're all gone 🤬🤬

Ok, rather than slowly clicking on the arrow key working my way down the fx list, i just clicked on the first fx at the top of the list, then clicked & held the keyboard arrow key so i it quickly flew through the fx's, the search for Beat looks correct again, every time i open Vegas i guess i'm going to have to do this, click on the first fx, then click n hold the down arrow key 😒
Something strange with import function. importing a group of video files would have shown them all highlighted in the project media window and dragging them would bring them all in the timeline. After I updated to latest version when I import a number of files it doesnt highlight them all in the project window so its hard to see what the new files are.
I can't say I can reproduce that on my end... until we can get to the bottom of what is causing that for you, I'd recommend making a custom media bin when you import new clips, name it "new clips" or something like that... import them into that, that way only the new clips will be in that bin.... then once you drag them onto the timeline, you can place them into their proper bins (assuming you have other custom bins they were supposed to go into).
@Former user In Vegas17, you can search for not only presets, as well as parameters. Take BCC Glow for example, it contains parameter "Mocha". You can imput "mocha" to find BCC Glow.
