Those who are using dslr footage without any conversions on the timeline. What are your preview settings.Preview/good/best? Curious. I get kinda sluggish footage playback sometimes and trying to wittle down this issue.
Tahnx to all. ; )

Usually have my preview set to Half.
Canon DSLR footage will play fine without dropping any frames even with SONY Color Curves and Color Corrector FX applied and I could probably push it even further with more FXs.
Using Vegas 11 64-bit with GTS 450.
I am usually fine with Optimized/Full on an i7/950 8GB + GTX460 however it looks like the performance significantly depends on the VP11 64bit build, and on whether GPU acceleration is on or off.
Some time ago I tried to convert the MOVs to AVIs with Cineform, but it looks like the benefit is no longer that obvious (as it was with former versions of VP and Movie Studio).
I completely agree with Fredrick. I'm running best/full on an i7/2600k and a GTX560. For most events and fx, I can still get full playback rate, with the GPU acceleration on. Even Gaussian combined with CC, which surprised me. The one exception is the New Blue transitions, which I use just to stress the system. They bring frame rates down to the single digits.
One thing I do like about neoscene is how it makes footage look better and easier to grade.
Seems to be pretty good here then saphire edge sometimes has a hiccup or two. I might clean my raid drives and see if that helps abit.
