When I alter a slider on any audio track they all move together. How do I adjust using the slider, say for the SOund Effects track without altering the audio on a video segment?
Hmmm. They are supposed to work separately by default. It sounds like you may have selected all the tracks. Click somewhere NOT on a control in the track header of the track you want to adjust. You should now see this track header as a different color from the others. You will now be adjusting this track only.
It wasn't the volume - yes you are right and yes that does work. What I meant was the "Pan" option. I don't seemed to be able to pan separately, ie the audio on the video element against say the sound effect.
If you can guide me on this I will be most grateful!
Actually Pan should work exactly the same way, but you have to click the little down-pointing triangle before "Vol:" to choose the Pan control instead. You can also add volume or pan envelopes to the track if you need to adjust these to different values at different points in the project.
Just by responding to my request with your - "Actually Pan should work exactly the same way" the Pan works as you said it should - this is spooky! I'll try to recreate the problem, but for now it does what it says it should.
Honestly, it wasn't doing this - propably human error on my part - yeah that'll be it wont it Chienworks.... I know it should have been doing this 'cos I've did this 3 weeks ago.
No X-File factor! I did have ALL the tracks highlighted. When I deselected and then selected one track I could then apply PAN and Vol. control to each independantly.
Most welcome! I figured it was probably something simple.
I spend a lot of my time at work doing help-desk type duties, and people around here swear that when i sit down at their computer, they can hear it purr ;) I guess they (the computers anyway, not necessarily the users) just like me.
