how do i capture???

I have a Sony Handycam DCR -DVD 101 and i cannot seem to be able to capture using any video editing software, i am currently using Sony Vegas 6 Movie Studio+DVD Platinum Edition. It only has a USB connection, 1394 does not exist on this camera. Do I have to use the driver software(Pixela Image Mixer) or is there a way for the software to recognize my camera.

Any help would be great!!

Well, to be honest, if you're planning on doing much editing then many folks here will suggest that you return that camcorder and buy a Mini-DV model. Working with material from DVDs is problematic and slow.

However, if you are going to continue using it, place the DVD in your computer's drive and click on File / Import / DVD Camcorder Disc. This will let you import the video directly from the DVD without using the camcorder to transfer it.
