Playing with idea of switching from passive to active monitors.
Soundcard: M-Audio Delta 1010LT.
Currently running five line outs from 1010LT to a home theater amp with 5.1 direct line in, then out to passive speakers and active subwoofer. I control room volume with the amp's volume control. All six speakers are thus volume controllable.
If I switch to 5 active monitors (or the M-Audio LX4 with the three expansion speakers) and a sub connected directly to the 5.1 outs of the 1010LT, how do I control room volume? Software control panel does nothing unless Bass Managment is turned on, and I've read that BM should stay off.
So I have to stand on my head and feel around the back of the subwoofer or each speaker to adjust room volume?
Can't run the line outs through a mixer since most mixers have only L&R out, not 5.1.
Thanks.
