How do I do a Vertical Film clip Flip??

LyricsGirl wrote on 12/18/2004, 11:09 PM
Hi everyone,

i am new to video editing. I recently purchased Vegas 5 and am working on a sample video in order to learn and hopefully - earn!

I took some video of a show, using - ** my SONY DSC V1 digatal still camera. I am using the clips to create a 5 minute video of a wild west show
when I recently visited the USA.

Now, from my understanding, when the characters switch from one to anor\ther, there is normally 2 cameras filming. in this case -only one. To get the illusion of 2 cameras, I have removed the panning between characters. I noe\w need to flip the video on the second character to give the impression of using 2 cameras. i tried reverse, but all it did was to play the clips backwards! I want to physically flip left or right. e,g. if in the clip the character is on the right of the video, if i flip it, the character is now seen on the left side, facing the opposit direction.

i hope this is clear enough for you to understand!!

THANKS in advance!!!

LG

Place the cursor at the start of the clip you want to flip.

Click the "track motion" button on the track header.

Select "3d source alpha" from the drop down at the top left of the layout window.

On the "front" pane......rotate 180 degrees.

. .or . . if you just want to do this to the single Event and then have the option of "moving" this Event, try Pan Crop. Track Motion will be applied to the whole Track. Grazie

Grazie

How do you make it face the opposite direction with pan/crop?

I can only make it go upside down?

Thanks Grazie,

I never noticed that before.

That's strage because I usually right-click everything to see what it does.

Can't snatch the pebble yet.
