How do I get the cursor go back to the starting point?

I was on Vegas 18 for about five years so this is driving me bananas and I've googled and googled. As it is now, if I'm at the one minute mark and I stop at the two minute mark, the cursor stops AND STAYS at the two minute mark. I would like the cursor to return to where it started when I stop it. I've already gone into Options> Preferences> Editing and haven't come up with anything. I'm on Vegas 23

Click in the 3 dots '...' button under the Preview Window and click on 'Make Spacebar and F12 Play/Stop instead of Play/Pause'.

The change of the default behaviour is mentioned in the release notes for Vegas Pro 23:

  • The spacebar performs a Play/Pause action by default instead of Play/Stop

BTW, after clicking on the 3 dots, you can also then click on 'Edit Visible Button Set ...' and choose extra buttons to permanently appear in the button array under the Preview Window.
