3/ Vegas 10 will automatically deinterlace your video if your project properties are set to an interlaced format. It will do this regardless of whether or not you change the clip properties from Interlaced to progressive and will also ignore your deinterlace settings and do it's own deinterlace regardless of whether or not you select a deinterlace method.

I find this automatic deinterlacing to be a complete disaster and wish Vegas offered ways to control it.

I take a lot of frames from interlaced SD footage for use on web pages. It used to be that I could just scroll around to find a frame without movement and grab that. Vegas wouldn't deinterlace and the image was as sharp as it was going to get.

Now in Vegas10 (and 9 too I think) Vegas will deinterlace that frame. This makes the image a little blurry and much worse than it would have been without deinterlacing. So, as far as I'm concerned, this habit of forced deinterlacing of stills just damages the output.

Now, to get stills out of an SD timeline I need to set the project properties to progressive. If I were editing video I'd have to switch the properties back and forth.

Ugh! (Rolls eyes)
