You do this with the ripple tool, but you cannot do this and without affecting the other events unless this is the last one on the timeline.

I'm *really* not sure but I'll make a guess: maybe by going into Options/Preferences/General and by checking "Automatically save trimmer markers and regions with media file" ..???

1. Make sure that the "Auto Ripple" button is on your toolbar. If it is not, put it there using the Options -> Customize Toolbar ... dialog. Look for the entry in the left-hand pane that says "Auto Ripple (Ctrl+L)," click on it, and then click on the "Add" button to put it in the right-hand pane. Click on the Close button.

2. Make sure that Auto Ripple is turned on (the Auto Ripple control will be "depressed," just like me).

3. Click on the little down arrow that is just to the right of the Auto Ripple icon and select either the second or third entry. The third (bottom) setting will definitely do what you want, and the second (middle) setting probably will. If the first setting is selected, track and region markers will not move.
