How do I make text in the video scroll slower?

I am new to Vegas Pro... I am doing simplistic music videos with background scences and the lyrics over top. How do I slow down the scrolling of the lyrics?

@Susan-Rankin Hi, drag the text event on the timeline to make it longer.

You see this little triangle appear showing text has been looped,

Press this button top right to remove that triangle, this will remove the looping effect & adjust the text to the length of the event. ie slowing it down.

Or use the stretch option & drag the text to the length you want, this is maybe an easier option.
