how do I move many things at once?

I made a stop-motion movie with my friend, and it has text, sound effects, etc. and they are all placed right where they need to be. I decided I wanted to create an intro, but this would mean sliding everything over, and re-synching the sound effects and stuff. Is there any way to move lots of stuff around at once? ?

Turn ripple edits on and make sure it's set to all affected tracks, markers, etc. Select the event at the beginning and drag it to the right. All events that don't start before that one will move along with it.

Alternatively, place the cursor where you want the empty space and go to the Insert / Time menu.

Many ways to do this.
Simplest is to position your cursor at the start, and Insert->Time.
EDIT: Next simplest way is Kelly's ripple-edit method above.
Third simplest way is to select all the events you want to move, and click-drag them.
Or, you can select the events as above, hit "G" to group, then drag them as a unit.

These are the most common methods.
