How do I remove transition?

I cut a bit out of the timeline, and because I had (unknown to me) the automatically insert transitions option checked, VV3 put in a crossfade for me. Unfortunately, I wanted a straight cut. I got rid of the overlap by dragging the second clip to the right, but the beginning of the second clip still has the fade in for the audio and sound (no fade out at the end of the first clip, which puzzles me a little). Anyway, I can't figure out how to undo the fade (or remove the transition altogether). I'm sure the answer's simple, but I can't find it in the help file.

Thanks

Alan

Do you have a blue line that indicates where the fade is? You can put your cursor near there and it should change to a half triangle kind of shape. Then drag the fadeline to the end (or head) of the scene to eliminate the fade.

Thanks Dave, I actually had moved the cursor around there, thinking (a la premiere, that there would be some point marks that I could click onto and drag the blue lines flat). What I got was a hand that raised or lowered the gain of the flat part of the blue line. I'll guess I'll have to resort to perusing the manual -- ususally I can figure these things out from help.

One other suggestion, zoom all the way into the beginning of the second clip and make sure you don't have some residual audio left from the first clip. Maybe when you trimmed, you did not delete the audio part that overlapped. Just a thought. Hope you get it figured out.
