How do I use mpa file

I was given an .mpa file (supposedly downloaded from itunes). I cannot get Vegas to accept it. I tried changinhg the extension to wav and mp3 to no avail. I can't get it to open in my audio editor in order to convert it. How do I use this file. She really wants me to use it. Help.

Terry, there may be a DRM restriction on that file.
My workaround for it (I have iTunes an my computer) is to burn the song to a CD and then bring it into Vegas with the "import from CD" option.
