This may not be very helpful, but as I remember, you couldn't delete one from the IDE in Vegas 3. I don't know if it's now possible in 4. Probably would involve finding where the presets are stored (like Program Files\Vegas 4\Whatever). Also, maybe the presets are stored in the same file as the originals, so you wouldn't want to erase that.

I actually stopped using presets as much because of that in 3 and now save custom FX instead.

To delete a preset just press the red X button on the right of the save button, which is to the right of where you select your preset. That should do it.
