how do you get the pan/crop path to go away?

i just want to do a simple cut to a zoom, but i accidentally created a path for a zoom and now the damned thing won't go away.

i need to know how to first restore this thing to normal, and then just set an entire event slightly zoomed on an area of the frame. no movement, no paths, no rotating. just a simple zoom.

You probably created a keyframe when you moved the pan/crop and created the path. Just delete the offending keyframe and the path should go away.

Maybe you have Sync to Cursor selected (little button in the bottom right corner of Pan/Crop panel). First make sure that is off - or you'll keep getting accidental animation.

Then look at the key frame time line at the bottom of the Pan/Crop panel. The "Position" track should have some diamond shaped key frames on it. That's what is making your animated zoom.

- click the position track
- zoom all the way out (scroll wheel or Down arrow)
- click/drag on that timeline to select all the keyframes
- hit the delete key (they should disappear except for one)
- click the one keyframe diamond that is left (it will have a white dot when selected)
- set your zoom using the pan/crop square

done.
