How do you make "clean" chapter select advances?

I've got a completed project (thanks to the guidance of the folks here) now.

However, when advancing between my chapters (both during 'play' and from my 'chapter select' screen) I keep getting a brief flash of bright colors and pattern just before the scene starts.

All but one chapter does this. Is this related to the amount of dead space between sections? I've got about 2 seconds of blackscreen/no audio at each one, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Any thoughts?

I've not observed this with anything I've created. Have you tried this on different players - it kinda sounds like something your player is doing.

If the behavior persists across multiple players, the next thing I'd do is go into vegas and zoom in on the chapter point on the timeline and make sure you don't have a stray frame or 2 from something else - there's a known issue with Vegas inserting stray frames on edit points (that Sony hasn't been able to track down because it's not reproducable).

You mean like an element I may have overlooked? I've moved the start points around and only one seems to have fixed.

I'll go back and magnify it. Thanks.

I've check the frames and there is nothing but blank space.

I spoke with customer service and they suggeted compatability issues with the blank discs I bought (memorex -r) with my drive.

Also, the burner's firmware might be an issue...still exploring.
