Vegas does not support MIDI files or MIDI as a track media type.

You will have to record the output from your synth/sound modules into Vegas to actually make it part of the project.

You can use a MIDI interface as the master sync, this way Vegas chases to the sync(i use MOTU MTPAV)and your sequencer does the same. Record your sequencers output to a stereo pair of tracks in Vegas or if you are using one, bring the sequencer up through the mixing console during your mix.
