How do you use acid loops with Vegas?

I am editing some personal home videos for people. Though I have never really used Acid, I'm somewhat familiar with it. I know you can drop loops within the Vegas track and set tempo.

With this ability, is there much of a reason to use Acid, the program. If you do use Acid, do use run it in sync with Vegas? With more people wanting me to edit videos, I'd like to know the most efficient workflow.

To use Acidized loops, just drop them on the timeline in Vegas. They'll lock up just fine. However, you cannot globally change pitch, you cannot globally change tempo in Vegas; these are ACID application functions only.
ACID is meant to go with Vegas (and Sound Forge) as a suite of tools. All 3 are built to complement each other.

I've been using Acid for about a month now and I am still amazed each time I fire it up as something new seems to jump out at me. I can't give you the best workflow yet as I'm still fine tuning.

For me, I take multiple loops and make bed music to add to videos/projects but Acid is more than that in total. Like Spot mentioned, working within Acid you have much more flexibility (change key, tempo etc) prior to sending it over to Vegas. Once I get the music I want, I render it and bring it over to Vegas. Don't avoid it....it's a very powerful tool you have at your disposal.

Oh yeah, and no copyright worries (for the most part)....crowd goes wild....

Vegas5 + SF + Acid Pro . . UNbeatable! Ah the warm glow of knowing I've got a sensible, intuitive and fun set of creative platforms . .. and yes I'm obssessed by it ... tough! I don't care . . . . boomhower, I got Acid Pro4 last Feb and it just keeps getting beter for me.

Now I don't see a differnce between Video and Audio .. it is starting to merge . . very very fast . ..

The interfaces do look ALOT alike....Nothing like looking at the computer at 1am trying to find the chromakey only to realize you are in ACID........haha

When you use ACID, is it opened at the same time as Vegas. Are you in sync or do you compose in ACID and then move it over.

You can compose in ACID with Vegas open, and lock the two up using VMR, although I've not done that with Vegas 5, I'm sure it still works.

I compose a piece in ACID that's exactly the length I need for my video project, render it (sooo quick) and plunk it into V5. Sound Forge is on my wish list.
It's amazing what you can do with just loops, and tons of fun too. don't forget to get your 8 free loops every week from ACID Planet!

I have been a bit confused on this issue. This is slightly off topic here so hope others benefit.

What do I use if I want to make my own Acidized loop?

(eg, play my guitar into the computer and record it)

Do I need ACID alone? or do I actually need to make that in Sound Forge and then bring in to ACID? (Something about beatmapping and such)

( I don't have a ton of money to buy loops and thought it would be cool if I could make some original loops for use in my Vegas creations)
