I remember seeing some discussion somewhere about this. When I do a credit roll up the screen, how long should it take for a line to traverse the whole distance, from bottom to top? There's more to it than just aesthetics, because TV interlace gives the appearance of a line "pattern" that scrolls up the screen also. If your scrolling speed is near the interlace speed, you'll get some very strange effects. In fact, I think some high-end titling products default to certain scrolling rates because of this.
The credit roll titler in VV3 is pretty weak, and I'm using the old TitleDeko that came with my simple little Studio7 software (hate to even bring it up, because VV really rocks otherwise). Perhaps VV4 will evolve in this area.
