I downloaded JohnnyRoy's script "NormalizeAllVegas5[1].js." It downloads as a txt file and I'm not proficient at all with scripts. What's the intermediate step for "transforming" the txt file into a js file?
Many times they are listed as text files to make them easier to download. All you have to do is right-click them, choose rename, and either remove the .txt (many are named .js.txt) or change the .txt to .js.
Make sure you place it in the Script Menu folder and Vegas will automatically see it.
Thanks. However, something odd seems to have happened. On the VASST site the filename is listed as filename.js.txt, but when I download it, the filename of the download file ends only in .js with the .txt omitted. If I try to rename it as filename.js, it just saves the name over itself.
JohnnyRoy: Never mind the above. I remembered that I had to open it in Notepad (or Wordpad), and use "File > Save As" to change the filename to end in .js. That worked, and thanks for a much useful script.
Glad you got it working. With all the viruses around, many firewalls will do crazy things to Jscript (.js) files. I once had my popup blocker software add lines of code to the .js file so it no longer worked in Vegas. Anyway, it seems you have it fixed now so that’s great.
