Since Sony already has DVD creation software, I wonder what will happen to DVDA?

Well, you know what i heard. Top Sony executives are going to come to everyones house, reformat your hard drives that has vegas installed, and then take your children and perform "Clockwork Orange" type of experiments on them. Why do you think they make you register their products? Think about it people: names, proof of purchase, maybe an address. Its all part of the evil Big corporation conspiracy!!

All kidding aside: speculation about the SOny deal is becoming somewhat of a nuisance on this board. I remember when Vegas 3 was out and everyone was complaing that Vegas would be more popular if only they had more marketing dollars/ better financial shape. Then we find out Sony bought SOFO. Now everyone complains or implies that Sony is too big and will probably ruin the product. Geez....Sony Pictures cant take back Vegas 4 from your hands and make it worse.

Even if they shelve the product line you still have editing skills that carry over to other products. I dont even know why Sony Pictures has such a bad reputation. Its a different division from the Sony corporation and the Sony corporation is not that horrible.

This will be my only post on this topic since i think im contributing to the problem. But for the love of God, Buddah, or whatever the speculation needs to stop. Forums are to help others when they run into trouble with the product. Speculation only wastes space when i run a search and hundreds of posts that i come across deal with gossip. Plus the management team probably doesnt know exactly what is going to happen as of yet. Acquistions take time to evalute the Assets that were purchased.

I purchased a Sony Vaio preloaded with their software when I got interested in Editing.

The sony software is the primary reason I bought DVDA. Enough Said.
