I haven't had this happen with VideoFactory yet, but it's happened to me with Noise Reduction 2.0 and Sound Forge 5.0. In both cases, I went through SF customer service. The first time, I got a very quick response that they were re-setting the counter for NR 2.0. In the case of Sound Forge, I waited more than a week before getting a similar message. There are lots of complaints about SF's registration procedures on this newsgroup, but that was the first time I had any real problem. I hope it's the last.
A sign of the times I'm afraid. So-called activation schemes are meant to protect the company licensing their software. Routine things like reformatting or moving applications from one system to another now can get compounded. I've expressed my displeasure on this topic before. My view, pennywise and pound foolish. While such activation schmes may prevent or limit software piracy, it also can royally piss off paying customers. Not very smart from a business standpoint in my view.
so whats sonics view on this???
did you speak to them?
are they prepared to help out, or do they just say you have to buy it again???

simonp.s. Ive tried calling them but there closed for the holidays
Just call customer service if you can't re register online. I needed to do it over and over and over until finally I got a valid activation code for VF. Moving up to Vegas Video I was able to activate without a problem. A first for me.
