How's This?

Concerning Victor and Aaron and all the B.S. aliases.

Given:

1. You are carrying the torch of truth!
2. We are victimized audio consumers with our heads up our
asses
3. Nuendo and Digi001 are the Ferrari 850's and Vegas is an
old Chevy cavalier.
4. All of the unprofessional attributes of Vegas that you
have identified will never improve, because Sonic Foundry
is involved in a criminal conspiracy to take our money
and give us multitrack Acid.
5. We are overcome with fear about speaking out about Sonic
Foundry's audio products, and as our noses are going up
the asses of Sonic Foudry Engineers, you guys are
standing your ground and fighting the good fight for all
of us.
6. We (none of us) have professional audio experience and
need you to lead us down the tunnel to the light.

NOW! Since we admit to all of these points, can we (in our
own little inexperienced way) pass around the info pipe
with other lame consumers and goof around with this product,
maybe even exchange some info about new bugs, hardware
issues, and make a few undeserved bucks?

P.S. To SF
Can we set this up so that people who are interested in
having a forum about this software, associated hardware,
patches, bugs etc., can have an equal or greater voice than
people who want to use it as a platform for their "views"
about software merchandizing. and variou philosophical
opinions. I know that my suggestion will cause a reaction
by some members of the forum, citing censorship and freedom
of speech. But frankly, go find somebody who wnts to
listen.

Whoa, now....
Don't lump me in as a vegas hater...vegas is the ONLY PC multitrack
app that I will use, and you will only tear it from my hard drive if
I am six feet under.
If you go back and check my posts, for the most part you will see me
hoping in a positive way for some of the changes that will fulfill
this product's potential.
I try to make suggestions, with answers and theories I have arrived
at by USING this product, and trying like hell to break it...
Go back and check my posts before you flame me, and I think you will
see that I am very much interested in your best interests
I stick up for Victor a lot, because his points are not only valid,
they are ESSENTIAL to making Vegas all that it can be...
I have clients that are 1000 trimes more anal and cranky than Victor,
and all it does is help me make my setup better....

I DO know what I'm talking about, check my posts, and you'll see me

I never said that, however in some cases it may be true

I like to think of Vegas as a '68 440 Roadrunner, sure, there's no
padding on the seats but it is faster than Bullit, and some how sexy
in a powerful sort of way...stripped down to the core, without any
feature bloat....Beep Beep

If you read any of my posts you KNOW I dont like Steinberg one little
iota
And as for the digi 001, I HATE proprietary stuff, so that MAC reject
is out the window for me

Also, in my posts, it may seem like sonic foundry is that way, but I
stubbornly and hopefully refuse to believe it. I have had nothing but
good things whenever I write to Peter, and Kelly has helped me over
the phone several times....Thanks a BILLION for the article on hard
drive optimization Kelly!

I never said that, but I am trying to fight the good fight, but
certainly NOT against sonic foundry, for the most part...there have
been some regrettable "tech" support incidents, but once I knew that
Kelly, Peter and Tom were the guys to talk to, I havent had any
trouble

Its nice to shut things out sometimes, but only knowledge can set you
free
Victor can't hurt you, in his Fletcheresque way, he is making all of

I would disagree with the making anyone wiser.Mainly wasting alot of
valuable reading for people who are here to use the product, not abuse.
That is unacceptable. This is not a bar with a bunch of drunks is it?
Look at Mr nichols forum.Inteligent conversations!Do like to go to
the theatre and have that loud mouth infront of you talking through
the movie or giving it all away?{yes I know this is not his forum}!!
I am not even interested in posting here much anymore or even
stopping by.I could only hope it improves.Sorry users who are trying
to get some answers to our product. And as you said Aaron about the
tech support folks.I have talked to Peter and there is an update
around the corner. They are not going to do two fixes and then put it
out to have everyone bitch for the rest. They are working on all
possible fixes and then you get the fix. This is common amongst all
soft companies.Just the fact.My friend at euphonics will agree as
well as IQSoft or Systems.I thought we knew these things here as much
talk as everyone has to do???
Motu? all of them.
Ireally would like to have good conversations with folks here as well
as share my knowledge and learn as well from others.
I will not bug about this anymore.Just watch and see what happens.
Good luck.

Sorry Aaron if I lumped you in. My frustration is not aimed at
anyone, it's the lack of rock solid pro dialog about how to get
things working better. Mike, you are totally welcome to your opinion
about all of the elements you cited. So what! I don't need you to
save me, I need you as well as anyone in the forum to get down to the
real business of making our software and hardware work better. If
you have issues with my or others behavior towards SF and our
inability to perceive what's happening as you do, so be it. Now, can
we yak about some audio stuff?

My frustration too
Maybe we users can get together, and see what things WE really NEED
from Sonic Foundry to use this app to its fullest

Here's my two cents, remember, I dont record in Vegas, so my needs
may be less than yours:
in no particular order

sample accurate sync

fx parameter automation

dynamic signal routing, A.K.A. a digital patchbay(when I think about
it, the routing solutions I need are different from what others may
need, so a customizable system, like a patch bay is probably best)

fix the "open copy in sound forge" bug

aux and fx send pan controls(not being able to use direct-x aux fx in
vegas, pushes is down to cool edit pro level)

MIDI control of automation....just give us an open one, many of us
can figure out how to implement it with sysex

"non-molestation" of levels, like an option to turn EPP panning off

those are the main ones bugging me for now
maybe where all our needs cross, the features can be implemented

Don't get fooled. I still think Victor sucks, but ever since he put
that hitman on me, that little asian guy with the throw-cymbals, I
won't say that in public.

(Peace, Victor)
