If that's the case it's very sad because without new people to innovate they won't keep up with new developments. But does that mean the ACID team love v7 so much and think it's reached perfection that they can't bear to add anything new? Maybe they can't understand why anyone would want to mess with perfection? In their minds at least.
"does that mean the ACID team love v7 so much and think it's reached perfection that they can't bear to add anything new?"
Sorry I cannot answer that as I'm not that familiar with Acid however I suspect you're right. Great product when it came out. The other players joined the race and they built on additional functionality. I guess now Acid is so far behind it's become irrelevant.
Remarkably enough over the last few days editing I thought what a pain Track Volume Envelopes are in conjunction with Ripple Edit, darn nodes can go anywhere. Now maybe the problem could be solved in part if Event Gain supported automation envelopes. Last night I found a one page tutorial on the latest Protools and they've added exactly that and more.
You can add nodes to event gain envelopes and if you wish have Protools transfer those to the track envelope or move the track level envelope values to the event envelopes. Brilliant.
The best way to succeed in business is to lie, cheat, steal and work Chinese children to death. Just ask Apple. Everything else is completely irrelevant.
