How To 16x Speed-Up Video (VP17)

MotoRider42HC wrote on 5/9/2020, 4:25 PM

Working with VMS14, i was stuck with 4x timelapse and 0.25x slow motion.

My understanding was, when upgrading to Vegas Pro, these limitations would be removed.

I am trying to render a video in 16x speed (sometimes 32x, 64x, 128x, etc)...

How can I do this, without rendering 4x, rendering 4x again, rendering 4x again, etc...

Is there a plugin I am missing, or am I stupid, or, how do I 16x+ in one render in VP17?

Thanks!

You can easily do using either Vegasaur or HappyOtterScripts. Both offer a free trial.

AKA the HappyOtter at https://tools4vegas.com/. System 1: Intel i7-8700k with HD 630 graphics plus an Nvidia RTX4070 graphics card. System 2: Intel i7-3770k with HD 4000 graphics plus an AMD RX550 graphics card. System 3: Laptop. Dell Inspiron Plus 16. Intel i7-11800H, Intel Graphics. Current cameras include Panasonic FZ2500, GoPro Hero11 and Hero8 Black plus a myriad of smartPhone, pocket cameras, video cameras and film cameras going back to the original Nikon S.

Respectfully, no thank you. I already spent too much money on VP17.

When I had VMS14, and asked Magix about this issue, I was very specifically told this feature was unlocked in Vegas Pro, so I could stretch or collapse video clips as much as I wanted.

If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know.

Insert / Video Envelopes / Event Velocity

Push the blue bar up as far as you need...

This speed change is in addition to the older method; Control Drag the End of the clip.

Right click in the event, Insert/Remove Envelope>Velocity

You can push up to 1000% via envelope velocity, and when combined also with 'simpler' playback 4x rate, you get faster motion

And if that's still not enough, you can save it as VEG project, then insert that VEG file project, into the new timeline (in VMS, this will loading the veg project, but, VP will handle it like other media (called 'nesting project' workflow), and you can do the same thing, insert velocity again, and 'stretch' it via playback 4x rate.)

My combinations of Velocity envelope and playback rate speed up.

Hope helps!
