How to add jpg overlay

Ok, I am publishing a Windows Media wmv file video to my Wordpress blog. Because the video starts with a black/blank screen the player itself is blank/black (see the screen shot link).

How can I add a graphic/jpg so someone looking at the screen can see what the video is about and not a blank screen? Good lord I hope I make sense.

I'm no expert but I would think you would "Import Media" a .jpg file and put it on the timeline, stretch it for the length of your wmv, or the length of the black (non-video portion), Typically these originate for 5 seconds. I assume your project currently only has audio track.

Thanks. Yeah I know if the jpg is at the very beginning of the video then it will show that when it is published. But my videos typically begin with a brief, blank screen and then the photos (and audio) fade in.

So indeed my timeline begins with a blank screen, thus the challenge and question.

You add the photo to the timeline as described, either on or above the video track, and drag the upper left-hand corner of the event to apply a fade-in.
