I want to add my website logo to my real media video, and the logo need to say on the video whole time. all the text preset from text/background generator goes cross fade or stay on top of the video (can't see the footage) so it is wired. I want to make it transparent like premiere does. why does simple thing like making logo into video has to be so difficult in vegas??? interface is so warped too.

For just text...

Begin adding a new track ABOVE your main video track. Now drag default or transpartent text (under Text) in Text/Backgrounds to the new track and drop. Pull down the opacity control to get the effect you want. Click on and extend the right edge of the event to fill the length of your video underneath. Type in whatever text you want. You can annimate by adding key frames.

For a image there just was another thread, for more details on parent/child relationship between tracks see the full manual starting on page #247.

Hi Anne,

You might try using a text panel with the checkerboard background for text overlays. (The checkerboard is transparent, like in Photoshop.)

Speaking of Photoshop, you could also use a graphic for your logo - a PNG with alpha works well.
