How to build peaks for only segments of your footage?

Hello! First post here. I am a gaming youtuber and I sometimes have footage 6-10 hours long in which I only use about a 30 minute connected footage and I was wondering how I can only build peaks for that segment because whenever I import my raw footage it takes forever to build peaks and I do not need the rest of the footage. Thank you!

Just hit “Cancel” to stop building peaks. The audio will still play. Use the video to make your cuts. Render selection(s) to a lossless or lossless enough codec for inclusion in your project.
