how to burn 24p video DVD

This is my first time trying to burn DVD using HD video.
I have a .mp4 video that is in 24p (no pulldown). I wanted to burn it to a SD DVD. What is the best way of doing this so as to have minimum resolution loss from what I already have.

In VMS10, I created a new project matching the properties of this source video file and imported the video on the timeline. Then I rendered it using the template "DVD architect 24p NTSC widescreen" after adjusting the bit rate in custom options.

However in DVD architect studio 5.0, I don't see any options for buring 24p DVD.

The only relevant options are for NTSC widescreen 60i.

Should I rather adjust properties of VMS 10, to build a 60i project and then render it as 60i DVD architect NTSC widescreen, to be burned as 60i widescreen by DVDA ?

I was also wondering how to realize the benefits of 24p videos if DVDA does not support it.

Thanks.

Well, you'll want your DVD to play at either NTSC or PAL frame rates (~29 fps or 25 fps respectively) -- otherwise it won't work in your DVD player. You can't make a DVD that runs at 24 fps.

Thanks Steve.

So in general I guess it will be better for me to render it as 60i and then burn it in DVDA using a similar template.

I don't know if that's necessary.

But, when it comes out as a DVD, it will come out at either ~29 or 25 fps. That's just the nature of television.

60i is another way of saying 29.970.

Approx 30 frames per second, 2 interlaced fields per frame = 60 interlaced fields.
