How to capture 24fps widescreen?

I am new to video editing and have just started using Vegas 7.0. I shot my first independent film, "The Virginator" on a Panasonic DVX100B with the anamorphic lens in 24 fps.

I have the instructional DVD's and learned how to capture normal video. But I want to be sure that I'm capturing the video in WIDESCREEN and the 24FPS. The reason I bought the DVX100B and the anamorphic adaptor was so that I could shoot it this way and get the film look for my small budget project. Does anyone know how to make sure I capture my video to the Vegas system in WIDESCREEN 24FPS so that I can edit it accordingly??? I don't want to lose those 2 characteristics in the capture process... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

How did you shoot your footage? Was it NORMAL, LETTERBOX, SQUIZED?

OK, the DVX100 with that anamorphic adaptor records just like any other camera shooting 16:9 with one vital exception as far as I know. The camera does not know about the adaptor so the 16x9 flags will be missing. This matters not one bit.

You just capture the footage as per normal, open SD 16x9 24fps project and drag in the media. Then R Click the media in the media pool to get to the media properties and change the aspect ratio to 16:9. That's it, job done.

All the other stuff about handling 24fps from the DVX100 remains the same.
