How to correctly use LUTs

Hey, I use lut presets in Movie studio Platinum 15 with lut plugin by Vision Color vision-color.com/products/#plugins but some issues are unclear fo me:
1) I film on Panasonic g7 - should I do any special color correction / convertation of my footages to use LUT presets? Exactly should I transform colors to a some basic template with converter made for panasonic g7, and then apply LUT filters to get what they were actually made for. is it right?
2) to do this in Movie studio I should make a fx chain: converter, and then lut filter. is it the right order?

LUTs assume a correct exposure, white balance and overall balance of the image. Not sure if the G7 generates log images. If it does, you want to first apply the correct normalization lookup table first, to get a viewable image. If it doesn't, your image should be already in a standard color space. At that point, you get exposure and white balance in place as needed - your goal is to get the best and most balanced image. Then you apply the 3d lookup table to get the colors go zing :)
