If you want something dead simple, then get a copy of Ulead Cool 3D. That thing was about as easy as it gets.
I have Cool 3D and never use it anymore. Why? Yes, it's easy BUT it is excrutiatingly slow. Someone recommended Blufftitler to me. Three things: 1) It cost less. 2) It renders much, much faster. 3) It's even easier to use. Check it out.
Since we are talking 3d
For 3D stuff carerra is ok not tooo complicated but try animator its free very simple and lets you render alpha channel separate has a good help file. output quality is brilliant
You can also build stuff quite quickly set animation sequences and warps brilliant and for free
Th problem is that most 3d software have a totally different feel to each other and to learn a few just takes too much time so if you are not doing full on 3d but want to do some fairly serious stuff pick 1
And master that one and animator is easy, good and quick
JR, I agree about Ulead's Cool 3D. I've done some pretty nice things there. But, I can't believe it hasn't been upgraded now in what, maybe 3 or 4 years. It seems to me there would be a lot of interest in an updated (faster, higher resolution) Cool 3D in the $50-100 range.
