How to cut to color

Lets say I have a clip and I've sliced out very short sections of each clip to make a strobe effect. Instead of having nothing when the clip strobes, I want to have a color. How to do this? I assumed i'd insert an empty event onto the track below it and then colorize it somehow, but I can't figure out how to colorize it.

I guess I pretty much figured it out. I took a clip, any clip but one that wasn't empty, color corrected it to death until I got the color I wanted and voila.

Hello Liquid:

One thing you might also do is putting your basic color settings on the big clip before you slice it into pieces. That will save you having to Copy and Paste Attibutes if you have a lot of clips in the strobe effect. I guess you could use a script to do your Copy and Paste Attributes if there is a lot of work, but I haven't graduated to scripts yet so don't really know how that works.

Rather than an empty event, use a solid colour media generator.
