MyChain wrote on 5/20/2025, 11:14 PM

Hello, I would like to know if Vegas Pro has any plugin that can do Halation effect like Dehancer plugin, or how to use any Video FX in the program.

Thanks from Thailand

First, a suggestion. In you User Profile>Signature, please add your computer specs like mine below.

Next, what version and build of Vegas are you using?

And... do you have a sample image of what you are trying reproduce?

OK, I have already entered the information.

I want to create a Halation Effect on my footage.
I saw an example in Davinci Resolve there is Video FX > Film Emulation Halation and there is an OFX Plugin Dehancer that can create the Effect.
In Vegas Pro how can I create this Halation Effect?

THANKS

Thanks for adding your computer specs to your Signature.

I have Davinci Resolve Studio, and tried the Halation on a clip. While it can do a lot of adjusting within that one effect, the same thing can be accomplished, albeit, with a little more effort in Vegas Pro, using its native plugins. I also have Boris FX Continuum Complete 2025, and Newblue FX Total FX 360, Sapphire Lighting and Ignite Pro plugins, and neither of them have specifically "halation" effect, but different glows and color adjusting on the edges, which is basically what halation is. It can add a softer overall look to a scene.

Use what works best for the results you want.

Maybe someone else can add to this.

@MyChain here is Boris FX BCC+ Film Glow, which does the same thing as Halation in Resolve. But the cost of Continuum Complete is rather steep unless you get it on sale, usually around Black Friday. But it is a plugin that has far more effects than I could ever want, including transitions.

This is a screen shot of the effect open in the FX Editor. I really love Continuum Complete.

This is how it looks in the Video Event FX.
