I am going crazy trying to figure out how to fit more that just a few minutes on a 700mb cd. I have tried to render it in mpeg1 and 2 and still no luck. Is it a compressed avi????
Uncompressed AVI will allow you to fit only a few seconds on a CD. DV compressed AVI fits about 3 minutes on a CD. Compressing to MPEG-2 at about 2Mbps will let you put about 45 minutes on a CD. What settings are you using when rendering to MPEG?
You should be able to get an hour of MPEG1 video on a CD and 352x240 (NTSC VCD) resolution. It might help if you explain why you are putting video on a CD (i.e., what are you trying to do?). If it’s for distributing to people to view on their Windows based PC you might try using Windows Media format or a codec like Cinepak or Indeo. If you want to play it on a DVD player you should be making a Video CD. If, however, you wan to archive it at full quality, CD’s just don’t have enough space.
