I think I just stumbled on something...
Got three Vegas (8.0c) processes on the go, all rendering (to WMV) at the same time. Wondered why, according to Task Manager, nearly all the load was on CPU0, the other 7 just trickling along. So in Task Manager > Processes, for each "vegas80.exe" process in turn, did RightClick > Set Affinity. Left the first process alone then removed CPU0 from the second "vegas80.exe" process and CPU0 and CPU1 from the other.
Result: Total CPU load is now doubled (and all 8 cores are sharing pretty equally).
Duh !
Who knows if that's a Vegas 8.0c or a WMV issue. Wonder if Vegas 9 does any different (I won't install it until my main project is finished).
