How to include media with AAF file

Major question: My sound editor (ProTools DAW) asked me to try giving him a firewire drive loaded with a Vegas AAF and the related media segments with 5 or 10-second tails.

I read on this forum that ProTools/Avid (unless I misunderstood) won't open an AAF with embedded WAV files. I had originally thought of saving a .veg file to the drive and having it include trimmed copies of the source media but I'm sure he won't be able to use a .veg file. Also, he doesn't need the video portion, only audio (he'll have the video as a reference AVI with sound and stamped timecode.)

So how do I "package" the media with the Edit Protocol Compliant AAF file? What file structure does an AAF file search for when it's opened?

Do a copy/trim of the Vegas project's media to a new, dedicated foldder, using the desired head/tail length. Once that is done, save both flavors of AAF (to be safe) as a file, without embedded media, to that same folder.
