How to keep aspect ratio on the viewing monitor?

I need help on how to keep the viewing tv monitor from squeezing the image. I've a DVX-100 with anamorphic lens attached for 16x9 footage. I was able to unsqueeze everything on the VV4 software, unfortunately, my monitor has it own attitude. It won't unsqueezed. However, it does give me letter box sometime.

What do I need to set up within VV4, so that my monitor won't take me for granted?

Are you working in PAL?

The letterbox display, is this only when the preview window shows frames are being compressed

Which monitor are you using, can it be switched between 4:3 and 16:9?
