Are you making a NEW video or one that already has text embedded? If a new video fairly straight forward... Add a overlay track, add the text you want using key frames to control it.
I make new video.
I insert a text permanent text and use another text to change
the color with keyframe.
But the position of the second text does not overlay correctly
on the first text.
It's not possible to make karaoke (CD-G) disk by vegas video.
You can only make video discs that emulate karaoke.
it's different. - on karaoke disk stored MIDI files, but you create video (mpeg-1,2,4).
There's a easy way. If you haven't already, download the PluginPac. Use 3DLE.
Drag the filter to the event you have the text on. Use the crop control to reveal or hide the text as needed.
For example to expose one letter at a time, drag the crop right control to the right until you cover up all but the first letter of a word, set a key frame. Either set more keyframes or set just the last keyframe to return the crop control to its original position. You'll need to vary the size of the event to control how slow or fast remaining text is revealed.
For an example how it looks try my mini-music video demo over at Kelly's site. I used several text effects made with the 3D filter. The one I'm referring to happens twice at about 117 and 127 seconds.
To align text vertically, I find it easiest to use the default text filter, then just keep adding tracks below each other for each new line of text so you can align it using the properties tab in the video media generator. That's one way you can change size, font and color and keep everying aligned.
Does anybody know if it is possible (with any program) to originate and burn CD+G discs. Just curious. I own hundreds of Karaoke CDG's but really know nothing of the format.
