How To Make Menu Appear First During Playback

Still working out the kinks on my first VMS 10 & DVD AS 5.0 project.

I have added a Menu to the project using DVD AS 5.0. I burned a sample DVD to see how everything looks and works.

A problem I am encountering is that the DVD begins to play automatically from the first scene when the DVD is inserted into a DVD player. In other words, the Menu does not appear to allow the viewer to select the scene he wishes to view.

The only way I can get to the Menu is to click Stop on the remote and then click Menu.

What do I have to do to get the Menu to appear first when playing the DVD?

Go to Help->Contents_and_Index->Index->Start Item.

Thanks musicvid, you saved the day again - that worked.

My remaining issue is the "End" action when selecting an individual scene from the Menu. After playing an individually selected scene, I want the program to return to the main Menu.

Under the Help tab I found the "Play Chapter" topic which includes a sub-topic "to return to the scene selection Menu after playing the selected scene". However, the instructions direct you to add multiple copies of the Title to the Menu for each scene. This is not making sense having all these additional title text boxes on the Menu. What am I mis-interpreting here?

You would need to do this with individual Titles, not Scene/Chapters afaik.
Why do you want to do this? It's not a standard approach.

Regarding the "return to scene selection Menu" question, I found a very lengthy and detailed procedure on how to do this on the CreativeCow.net Sony Vegas forum. The procedure was posted by Mike Kujbida.

I printed that out and will work my way through it.
