How to mask unwanted portion inside the image also.

Sir, I have Vegas Pro 14. I selected an image of an Indian lady wearing saree. I could mask the unwanted scenary lying outside of the image. At the same time I also wished to mask the unwanted black portion lying between the back of the waist and saree-cloth so that the video background is visible through the gap between her waist and saree cloth so that it gives a feeling that she is standing before an animated curtain.

Just draw another mask inside the first and make the mask mode negative. This give you what you want?

If it is a still image then I would edit it first in a graphics package like Photoshop to erase all the background and black portion. Then you can import the image into Vegas and overlay it onto any new background that you want.

Thankyou very much Sir for your guidance. After succesfully masking of external waste, when I tried to draw another mask in the same frame of image, the first mask disappears & whole thing visible. But earlier i did not make the mask mode negative as I do not know that point. Now I will try and inform you the result. Thanks a lot Sir.

Thankyou Sir I never had and do not know about Adobe Photoshop. I only have Vegas Pro 14 and Roxio 2012. Anyway I will follow Mr Kinvermark's advice and come back with results. Thanks a lot for your kind guidance.
