I am having a very difficult time trying to minimize/shrink the video while keeping in proportion.
Ultimately, I would like to roll credits while playing video highlights off to the side. So, in relation how would I slide the credits off to the side to give space for the video clip?
Click on the FX symbol on the end of the video clip, then click on the [pan/crop] tab. You are now looking at your video with a big letter "F" in the middle. It has 8 square anchors around it - grab the lower right corner one and drag it OUT of the square. You will see that, as you are doing this, the video frame gets smaller in the viewer down below. Once you have it the desired size, place your cursor near the "F" and slide the view around until you have the video off to the side somewhere. This will leave a black area where the credits can roll as the video plays off to the side.
Now to maintain aspect ratio while re-sizing the image. When you have the FX window open, PRIOR (sorry, I'm out of order here) to re-sizing the image, click on the [Lock Aspect Ratio] button first. You will find that button on the extreme left side of the FX window - there is 7 icons in a vertical row there, it's the 3rd from the bottom.
You do EXACTLY the same thing - treat the credits as a video that you want to move to one side. If you hit the [FX] button on your credits on the timeline, you will have the same pan/crop screen. Only you are moving it to the opposite side of the screen as the video. It works, I played around with it prior to writing to you just to make sure it works and I wasn't full of hot air.
Thanks Gerry! Your the best! It worked, but... I encountered another problem. I wanted to do a pan & scan/Ken Burns effect on the minimized/shrunk pictures that are set off to the side of the credits. Is there a way to do a double effect on a picture? I will also post this question as a new thread in hopes of more attention to my question. Thanks.
