How to move audio freely in Vegas 8?

Hi,

In Vegas 5 I can move audio (and video) tracks completely freely down almost to sample level so it's very easy to sync tracks from different cameras or from digital recorders.

But in Vegas 8 the tracks snap to one side or the other of my sync mark so that I can never get them exactly in sync - even though snapping is not enabled anywhere that I can see. Is there some hidden, or not so hidden, setting that will restore the free motion that I have in Vegas 5?

Thanks,

Tony

Trying turning off "Quantize to frames", under the "Options" menu. This will allow the audio samples to move more freely.

Should mention that when you're doing ANYTHING to the video you must have Quantize To Frames ON.

Indeed and thanks for the nudge Bob.

What I should have added was, once the audio is properly sync'ed, turn "Quantize to frames" back on.

Happy editing.
