How to REALLY delete Vegas

RichardU wrote on 2/28/2016, 10:58 PM
I screwed up my "customize keyboard" settings, and I can't get them back. No problem. I'll just reinstall Vegas. No such luck. I have uninstalled Vegas, deleted the Sony folder from Program Files and Program Files (x86), searched the registry for keys to delete, and every time I reload, my keyboard settings are still there.

So how do I REALLY uninstall Sony Vegas?

Thanks, Richard

You have to delete those files where these settings are saved. You could use something like Revo and it would probably do the job. Alternatively, just go to "C|Users|your name|Appdata|roaming|sony|vegas pro|version" and delete that folder. Your keyboard.ini files are located in that folder.

Have you tried resetting Vegas? It should revert everything back to default settings. Hold down CTRL+SHIFT while launching Vegas.

Thanks for the responses. And for the record, resetting Vegas to defaults does not work.

This will resolve your problem

Clean Uninstall instructions for every version of Windows can be found in the useful Sony Knowledgebase:
http://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/list/kw/uninstall/search/1

That said, I agree that a brute-force uninstall is almost never needed unless you have had a hard disk event.
