How To Render Droid X Video in Vegas 10

Everytime I try and render the .3gp movie from my Droid X cell phone to a format suitable for youtube, Vegas reports that the render failed and the cause could not be determined.

I am using all the render settings that I use for my canon HF200 for youtube, except I checked the boxes that let Vegas determine the frame rate, resolution
-main concepts .mp4 format
-1280 by 720 (droid format detected by sony)
-15.15fps (sony detected)
-progressive yuv
-50mpbs constant (way high but it ensures no additional compression)
-44.1/256kbit/s AAC

I also tried forcing the frame rate to 29.97 and forcing the resolution to 1280 by 720

Sorry, your comment is not clear at all. Are you trying to export for youtube, are you trying to export back to DroidX after editing, or are you trying to export in an intermediate format? What is your actual goal?

Rereading my original post I see:

Everytime I try and render the .3gp movie from my Droid X cell phone to a format suitable for youtube.....

Is that more clear now?

Upload a 3gp sample from your droid x somewhere (MediaFire or Dropbox) and let us have a look.

Thanks Eugenia I have always forced Constant Bit Rate and I see your method uses Variable Bit Rate. I will try that and post my results.

Thanks. for the assistance. .the actual file in question is about 1 gig...in fact ES file mangler had trouble sending it to my PC with SMB protocol over WiFi. It was probably a battery saving issue.

Anyhow, I will look for a place to drop it since it is going on you tube anyway.

No, a 1 GB download is not a sample.
RECORD A 30 SECOND SAMPLE on your droid and upload the 3GP somewhere if you would like some assistance.

Yes that worked. Thank you for the great solution.

Apparently forcing a video with Constant Bit Rate (50megbps) creates an error. When I selected Variable Bit Rate of 20megbps minimum and 40megbps average, the rendering completed without error.

I am using high bit rates to preserve quality.
